About the Speakers

Asit Pant works as a Technical Publication Consultant with Cadence Design Systems, Noida. Asit is an engineer by background and a writer by passion. He has 14+ years of experience and has presented multiple papers and workshops on technical communication subjects across the country.

Narssimhan has more than 12 years of experience in Technical Writing and other allied areas of the IT industry. He has gained experience in training, technical writing, hardware maintenance, software selling/programming and troubleshooting by providing services for various Indian companies. He has worked with leading companies like Rabobank International, Iflex, MphasiS, Roamware, Philips, and Blue Star Infotech as a Senior Technical Writer. Narssimhan has an M.A. in Ancient Indian History, a Bachelors degree in Physics and a alumunus of IIM Bangalore.

Madhumita is an arts graduate with a professional diploma in Web Design and Development, a true sagittarian with an immense love for writing, and a technical writer by professions. Backed by 8.5 years of experience, she has been associated with SafeNet for almost four years now. In her presentation, she shares her tips on creating a usable index in FrameMaker; one of her first projects with the tool.

Vidisha is an economics and management post-graduate by qualification, an avid traveler by hears, and a technical writer by profession, she has been working with SafeNet for more than six years. Self-trained, like many of us, she enjoys using FrameMaker to write about everything from 500+ page guides to her resume. In her presentation, she shares her tricks and tips piles after many experiments and mishappenings with the mysterious desktop publishing tool.

Shalini Vaishnav is currently working as a Senior Technical Writer with SafeNet Infotech. She has around 13 years of experience in Technical Writing. She has been using FrameMaker for the past two and half years. She uses Word, FrameMaker and RoboHelp for developing manuals.

Cheri Mullins is the Past President of the STC Austin (Texas USA) community. She is also the Director of Information Development for GENBAND. Cheri has more than 25 years experience in technical communication, both as a writer and a manager of writers (and other technical communication professionals). Her undergraduate degree is in Technical Communication and Publishing and she has a Master of Arts in Technical Communication (MATC) and a graduate degree in Telecommunications Management. As of this Fall, she will also be a PhD candidate in Technical Communication and Rhetoric. She teaches technical communication classes at the college level and present frequently to groups and conferences in the USA.
