About the Speakers


Vivek Jain is the Group Product Manager at Adobe Systems. He is responsible for the product management of Adobe Technical Communication Suite, Adobe RoboHelp and Adobe FrameMaker. He is a graduate in Electrical Engineering from IIT Delhi and has done his diploma in management from IIM Bangalore. Prior to joining Adobe, he has worked for several companies including ICICI, IBM

Makarand (Mak) Pandit is the CEO of Technowrites Pvt. Ltd. He started as a freelancer in 1994 and now manages a team of 26 professionals working for Fortune 500 clients. He is an electronics engineer with a post graduation degree in marketing management. He has more than 12 years experience in Technical Writing. He has executed on several projects for clients in India, Singapore, Europe, USA and Japan. Mak has actively served Society for Technical Communication (STC) and Technical Writers of India (TWIN) for many years. He is a well-known trainer and a visiting faculty at University of Pune.

Mak is an award winning speaker and sought-after presenter at domestic and international conferences. He has authored several articles related to Technical Writing and has trained more than 800 students so far. Mak was the president of STC India chapter in 2005 and TWIN List owner in the period 1999-2004. He currently serves as the Co-manager of the Global Membership Committee of STC and Public Relations Manager of the AccessAbility Special Interest Group.

Rajeev Jain has 15+ years of IT experience and has written books titled “Y2K and India “, “Informatics Practices”, etc. He is working with Zilog India as “Technical Publication Manager”. In past, he has presented on topics related to “Documenting your First API”, “API Documentation – Trends and Opportunities”, “Software Engineering”, “Programming with Visual Basic”, etc. His areas of interest include API / SDK documentation. He moderates the yahoo group and orkut community meant for writers involved in API/SDK documentation.

Manisha Khurana has done MBA with specialization in Information Technology. She is a Technical Writer working with Alcatel-Lucent, Gurgaon. She has around four years of experience in this field. She has done Technical Writing in IT, Finance, and Telecom domain.

Shilpa Sharma works as a Technical Publications Consultant in Cadence Design Systems. She is an Electronics Engineer by qualification and a technical communicator by profession. She has been working with Cadence for the last 7 years and before this was with NIIT. Besides work, family, whatever little time off she has is taken up by her hobbies that include old Hindi music, mushy novels, traveling, and driving.

Rachna Ganguli works as Senior Technical Writer with Cadence Design Systems, Noida, India. Her career spans 10 years and includes being a technical trainer, an instructional designer, and a technical writer. She has been with Cadence for nearly two years and has been with Agilent and NIIT before this. She has a Computer Science and Botany academic background. A strong believer of championing the user’s cause and adding fun and creativity to the usual humdrum of cubicles and software documentation.

The team manages a documentation set that contains 100 documents and includes Developer’s Guides, User’s Guides, and Online Help. To register for this event, please send an email (subject as: STC RegCon Registration) to Saravanan Manoharan ( ) by 5th December with your details – participant’s name(s), company name (if employed), STC Membership ID (if you are an STC member) and Email ID(s).

Your participation is confirmed only if you receive a confirmation mail from Saravanan

Participation Fee

* The participation fee is 250 INR for non-STC members.
* For STC members, it is 100 INR.
* For spot registration, it is 500 INR per participant.

Corporate Offer

If there are three or more participants from the same company, the registration fee would be only 150 INR per participant.

Additional Details

– STC suggests the participants to actively seek their organizations for sponsoring the registration fee. It can be added to their training costs.

– All participants (STC members or Non-STC members) have to register and get a confirmation mail from Saravanan on or before December 5, 2007.

– Non-STC members have to pay the participation fee by December 5, 2007.
